5 Tips to a Spring-Ready Front Entry

Ah, Spring.  The sun finally rises before your commute to work, the fresh smell of dirt and first sighting of green blades of grass – and of course soccer and baseball practice.  It’s official – Saskatchewan’s resilient residents have survived another arctic chill.

5 TIPS TO A SPRING READY FRONT ENTRY

Spruce up your space

It’s no surprise to us that our summer is short – but let’s not waste time mourning that.  If you start now you can enjoy “summer feels” from May to September – that’s FIVE months people!

So, friends, push pause on Netflix (that will be around all winter) and let’s get your home Spring and Summer Ready!

Speaking of the Front Entry: Talk about traffic jams – you can’t find your keys, do the kids need mini gloves or is it plus 18 today?  Rubber boots or runners?  And where is the dog leash – Maverick needs to go for a walk before he chews the legs off the brand new mid-century sofa!

Pack Away the Parkas!

Let’s start by stowing away winter items. You know the drill – give the parkas a wash, go through the mitten and toque collection – throw out the unpaired stragglers and purge the itchy headband the kiddos refuse to wear. Don’t feel like going to the dry cleaner? Check out these DIY laundering tips!

Muuto

‘The Dots’ installed at our #cityparkmodernfarmhouse

Let’s pull out the spring jackets and rubber boots. And how about throwing up some hooks for scarves, dog leashes, and keys while you’re at it? We love Muuto’s Dots (pick them up right here in town from Area Furniture!)

Freshen Up the Front Step

There’s nothing like a new mat to freshen up the entry. Get this cute one from Etsy! If you’re feeling crafty, make your own! Hit up Michale’s for a plain mat and some black acrylic paint, print your stencil and voila - you’ve got yourself a one-of-a-kind entryway feature.

Set the Stage

Adding a console table (if your space allows) is a great spot to have your key drop, mail basket, and a cheery succulent to greet you when you come home. Urban Barn and West Elm have some great options.

Add A Pattern

You knew this was coming……WALLPAPER people! It comes in so many patterns, colours, and textures - and it’s perfect in small doses. What better way to add a pop of colour and make a statement?
